So much has happened since my last post I am struggling to decided how to start. Ok, deep breath.

FlexiScale

The first excellent piece of news is that we have partnered with XCalibre for the hosting of fav.or.it on their FlexiScale platform. FlexiScale is a new scalable hosting platform ala Amazon EC2 but with much better fault tolerance and most importantly (for us anyway) they have a SLA. As with Amazon they have an API that allows full control over all of your instances letting you programmatically start/stop and if necessary launch new instances when traffic demands it.

APML

APML

I am pleased to announce that fav.or.it will be supporting the APML format. When we started developing our ‘time tracking’ feature we had no idea that what we were doing was going to become part of a new trend in technology. The data that we build up from watching your viewing habits is called ‘Attention Data’ and APML is a format for swapping that data between services/applications. We believe our data tracking model is the future of the internet and hope we can help push forward APML and make it a format that will gain mass adoption.

MiniBar

I managed to squeeze in a quick trip down to london on Friday, one of my meetings was at Tate Modern so I was able to take a quick look at the ‘crack‘. I was rather disappointed to find that it was only about 2 feet deep (rather less than the bottomless abyss that I had imagined) but it was still an interesting sight and Tate Modern in general put me in a very creative mood for the rest of the day.

After meetings I trekked over to MiniBar to see if there was going to be a spot for me to demo. Luckily enough (for me anyway) one of the SeedCamp contestants was not able to attend. I got lots of good questions at the end of my presentation and my thanks to Christian for hosting the event.

    Hello,

I discovered this service surfing Go2Web2.0.
I think that fav.or.it is a service who has great potentials.
I would like to try fav.or.it, and I want write a post on my blogs to say to all italians how works, and maybe give the council to get an account on this site!

How can I get an invite? =)

    Thank you

    Tiziano
